Thomas is originally from Lancashire and grew up playing golf at Wilpshire Golf Club.  After turning professional in 2011, he graduated with First Class Honours in Applied Golf Management Studies from the University of Birmingham in July 2012.  This unique degree program has been quickly recognised, since its introduction in 2002, as one of the best in the country and is known for being at the forefront of expertise in coaching, sports science and technology. 

 

During his career as a PGA Professional, Thomas has spent time coaching in Austria, Oman, Republic of Ireland and the UK whilst also spending 6 months on a cruise liner coaching golf on an indoor simulator, whilst travelling to over 30 countries worldwide.   

 

Thomas is a very dedicated and passionate golf coach, with a great belief in continuous learning and professional development.  This prompted him to complete a Masters Degree in Sport Coaching and he is now one of the very few PGA Professionals with such qualification.

Most recently, Thomas spent 10 years at Oulton Hall Golf Academy where he played a pivotal role in growing one of the largest junior programmes in the country.  Accompanying this, he helped design and implement adult beginner and novice group programmes whilst also coaching numerous golfers on a 121 basis.  He has also worked for the R&A, coaching at the last 2 Open Championships.

 

Thomas is now based at The Golf Room Garforth and is delighted to offer his services to all golfers who want to improve their golf and most importantly enjoy their time more on the golf course.
